Show A congreSSPerson SOME LOVE:

By Andrew Bossi*

Everyone in our government is currently deciding what position they will take on President Trump's recent executive order concerning refugees.

While they are making their decision, we think this might just be the perfect time for these Senators and Representatives, plus maybe a few Governors, to enjoy a delicious granola Valentine handcrafted by refugees.

Here's how you can participate:

1) Visit this web page to see a spreadsheet of senators, representatives, and governors along with their mailing address and any available press release regarding their position about President Trump's recent executive order. The web page will open as another page.

2) Choose a congressperson or governor to whom you would like to send a granola valentine. You may want to pick someone who is currently marked as "silent" about their position. Also, check below to make sure you are choosing someone who has not yet received a gift.

3) Come back to this website and pick out a granola gift in our granola store: we'd recommend a bag of Cherry Chocolate granola.

4) Order this granola as a gift. There should be a mailing address on the spreadsheet. If an address is incomplete (i.e. just a building) just add Washington, DC 20510. Feel free to write a one sentence personal gift note. It could be something simple like "I'm very concerned about our President's order to suspend refugee resettlement for Syrians." One of our staff will hand write this message on a card that will go with your gift.

5) As your order is processed, we will add your lawmaker of choice below under GRANOLA ORDERED FOR.

6) Finally, please post a link to this page along with an announcement such as "I sent a [congressman, senator, representative] some refugee-made granola. You can too here: https://goo.gl/xMvj7V. #ShowCongressSomeLove" on your Facebook page as an invitation for your friends to participate.

7) Keep track of who you gifted, and use the information on the spreadsheet to write them an email or,  better yet, give them a call.  Then enjoy day knowing that you not only provided work for a refugee, but that refugee an important valentine for American Congressional Leader.
